Newtskins vsPJ

ALL,

HERE IS THE RACE

Wed Run!

All,

Had a great run today and yesterday. I ran yesterday and got in 3.76 miles before small group , at a pretty descent pace just under 10 min/mile. Today I wanted to run at least 6K's and I ended up finishing 3 miles and my nikeplus stopped working so i had to restart it and that's why the graph above it only says 2.3 miles. So together I ran 5.4 miles! My longest run YET! I have 15miles logged this week already and I feel pretty good! I am actually 7 miles behind "Newtskins" so I have alot of running to do.

Small Group went great last night and I am super stoked for church this week!!! AWESOME!!!!

My Monday Run

All,

I had a nice run Monday.. I first went outside with the intentions of running a 5K and again just like last week as soon as I get around the bend of the lake it begins to pour! I run back to my house and stretch out and wait for the rain to clear.. that run was 1.4 miles at a 9:40 pace. My 2nd run is above which I feel like I am proud of because it's only my 3rd run basically. I am way behind "Newskins" because of my busy weekend but I intend to run everyday... Thanks for Supporting..

Fri Morning Run

All,

Here is my run for fri morning. Alittle better under 11min pace but still only 2.5 miles. I am getting ready for marrigage counseling all weekend. Jen has friends that are driving from New York so that should be interesting, it's my first time doing marrigage counseling so pray! Hard!

Also steve is ahead of me still by less than a mile but Ive been super busy on the weekend so I think I'm going to be ok next week running. Life is good Praise God!

The First 3 Years!

Hey my name is John and I’m the youth pastor at VCC in Virginia Beach , VA! This is such a great way to communicate to each other and build each other up. I wanted to talk about something that I am recently going thru. I was at another church and I actually left at the 3 year mark and so now I am coming to the 3 year mark here at vineyard, and I’m seeing some of the same problems. Maybe some of you have been in youth ministry longer and so you can speak into this which would be great in my opinion but maybe there’s some volunteers out there or youth pastors new at the job. I recently met with a youth pastor and he talked about the first 1-3 years you are running off hype basically and then the next phase 3-5 is actually when you start building the church. Now I don’t like to hear that the 3 years of my life, what I have worked so hard for can be just thrown into a cateogory of “Hype” but I feel that there are different seasons in youth ministry and if we can help each other navigate through these seasons then we as a Vineyard Team will be better at equipping our youth ministries to outlast these seasons and better reach teens. I really want to build a youth ministry that outlast me and my personality. Is there anyone out there that has any thoughts on what I’m saying here? I know that I’m currently having a hard time reaching new Youth. Is there anyone that has seen anything like this or is currently feeling like ur momentum is not there? How can we get it back? How can we freaking break our city’s open for God? Can Broken Youth really become heathly and lead the church? Just some thoughts and I just put down what I was thinking today.. I read a book called Sustainable Youth Ministry that was absoutely incredible… i think everyone should read it.. def…

It's A Sad Day!

All,

It's a Sad day ladies and gentlemen! I went with my beautiful wife yesterday to go shopping for some clothes yesterday because we had a gift card. I tried on some new jeans Size 34 length 30 ( i have stuby legs) and they were real tight! Not like kind of tight but like tight to the point where I realized I would have to move up to Size 36! YES THAT'S RIGHT SIZE 36! UGGGG I'm not happy right now LOL!

So I got home and Jen had a idea to see who could lose weight faster since we are both very competitive. The bet is I have to lose 15 pounds faster than Jen can lose 12 pounds! Whoever does it first will get to pick the family dog. So hopefully I will be able to figure out the best way to lose weight and fast!

LOL
